Meet the Australian Liberty Alliance

OMG, lock the door, draw the curtains and turn off the lights, an election's coming, and a veritable zombie apocalypse of muppets, misfits and morons is on the prowl for our votes. Among them, a gibbering troop of Islamophobic sadsacks (inspired by Geert Wilders no less), called the Australian Liberty Alliance.

Has the word 'liberty' ever been so slighted?

A sample of their puerile and contradictory pap:

"Our Australia stands for individual liberty, small government, Western values built on Judeo-Christian and Humanistic foundations, social fairness and an integrated multi-ethnic society with one set of laws for all, regardless of colour, gender or creed." (australianlibertyalliance.org.au)

Judeo-Christian Humanists aside, check out the ALA's foreign policy. Of the 6 paragraphs devoted to the subject, the final two read as follows:

"Australian Liberty Alliance considers Israel to be the only liberal democracy in the Middle East today. We find Israelis not deserving of the criticism from those with limited understanding of historical and social political developments in the Levant.

"We acknowledge Israel's right to exist in peace and within secure borders, including the traditional homelands of the Jewish people in Judea and Samaria, with Jerusalem as its undivided capital."

IOW, every square inch of Arab Palestine.

Whatever did the poor bloody Palestinians do to this lot?

Where does one start, MERC?

"Judeo-Christian":

"The only (liberal - note how that work has been sneaked in) democracy in the Middle East":

Finally "traditional homelands of the Jewish people". They need to read Shlomo Sand - as Mannie pointed out a day or so ago.

I was going to give the minor parties a guernsey after the recent attempts to prevent cross-benchers getting elected in the senate. This one will come bottom in my list.

The so called Australian 'Liberty' Alliance present not only confused policies but mutually exclusive policies.

The purported ALA policy of 'One set of laws for all'...is in reality selective application of international law if at the same time the ALA support the annexation of the rest of Palestine including Jerusalem. No doubt the annexation of the occupied Golan Heights would also be included in the ALA wish list to be given quasi legitimacy.

International law has time and again reaffirmed the principle of 'the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by force'.

Does the Australian 'Liberty' Alliance, like so many other fakes and charlatans, believe that the Bandit State is above the law?

Please explain.
